- These are the Dhamma.

The Dhammaleela Foundation would like to acknowledge the great effort made by Dr. Aimorn and Alastair Stewart who translated "Noble Treasure" from Thai into English. Also, we would like to thank Dr. Prapod Assavavirulhakarn who kindly profread the Pali phrases in this book. We appreciate Mr. Jarary Wongluang and Mr. Chai Techapornroong who hleped with the beautiful design and artwork of the cover. Especially, we have deep gratitude toward Venerable Phra Ajahn Yantra Amaro Bikkhu and Phra Annop Bhikkhu who generously permitted the Dhammaleela Foundation to use their drawings and Chinese paintings as illustrations.

May all the meritsorious actions of those taking part in the publication reward them for their noble effort to pracctise the teachings of the Buddha. May the Dhamma bloom in the hart of all.

Acknowledgement

Phra Ajahn Yantra Amaro Bhikkhu, our kind and respected teacher, has travelled widely throughout the world and has taught Dhamma to many people.  Many of those he met and taught have wished to know more of his teaching, but there has been very little available for them to read. Early in 1991 I travelled with Phra Ajahn's group in Australia, and practised  Dhamma with them. I also discovered that Phra Ajahn Yantra's teachings in Thai carry a far deeper meaning than his teachings in English, and so his English-speaking hearers miss part of his message. So at the end of Phra Ajahn's Dhamma trip, I decided to translate some of his teachings into English, so as to thank him for his patience, kindness, and inspiration, to pay my respect to him in a tangible way, and to help spread knowledge of the Dhamma.

I have chosen to translate - Noble Treasure - for he gave it to me on the day I left the group in Perth. The translation follows Phra Ajahn's words as closely as possible, but please forgive me if there are any errors. I thank Phra Ajahn for permission to do this translation, for it has given me a great deal of understanding of the Dhamma. I also thak my husband Alastair for his patience and help.
